About the role – Controller, Finance & Operations

We are seeking a talented Financial Controller to become an integral part of the growing business. The position is fulltime, based in our LA Showroom and Head Office.

Reporting to our Executive Director for Finance & Operations based in Sydney, Australia, you will be responsible for key financial management and for reporting across the business operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the overall financial management (income statements, balance sheets, XERO reconciliations, reporting, financial analysis, fixed asset register, cash flow forecast and GL.)
  • Implementation and control of all financial and accounting procedures and systems
  • Compliance and Tax preparation and lodgement nationally including resale certificates
  • Management of key functional departments and projects from logistics processes to warehouse optimisation
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and streamline operational processes
  • Preparation of a range of appropriate management and financial reports to assist in decision making and increase system efficiencies
  • Manage the payroll function including 401K, health insurance and commissions reports
  • Work with HR Manager to ensure that HR practices, contracts and operations are in place
  • Premises management and all relevant insurances
  • Responsibility for IT /equipment
  • Management of a small team (accounting, procurement and warehouse)
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic, attitude and values compatible to A&Co Brand Identity

 

About you

The ideal candidate will be a team-player who demonstrates a high level of personal motivation, with solid knowledge and experience as a Financial Controller. This role is both hands-on and strategic and to be successful you must have/be:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in an executive/management position with full financial responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; MBA and CPA/CA preferred.
  • High level of experience in business procurement, logistics and operational management
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong time management with high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to effectively lead a small team
  • Responsible and honest
  • Advance computer skills in MS Excel

 

You will also possess physical capability to lift samples or rugs with assistance if required, in accordance with our workplace WH&S policies.
